Membership BenefitsThe Orchid Society of Alberta (OSA) was established in 1976, when a few growers gathered at each others’ homes to discuss orchid culture. From this small beginning, the Society has grown to include members from across the province. We have monthly meetings, a newsletter, a website, and an annual orchid show that attracts thousands of visitors. Our show also gives members a chance to have their plants judged by the American Orchid Society. Our meetings are held nine times per year (no meetings in July, August or December), on the third Sunday of the month. We meet at St. Mark Catholic Junior High School, 11625-135 Street, Edmonton. The highlight of the Society’s year is our orchid show, which is held in February. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this event! Other popular activities are our silent auction, our Christmas potluck, and our tours of members’ greenhouses. OSA members also receive a 10% discount from some local merchants, including Apache Seeds, Ellerslie Gift and Garden, and Salisbury Greenhouses. All this and friendship, fun and good times, too! Why not join us!Membership is annual, with the membership year running from September 1 through August 31. A new membership may be purchased at any time, but the fee is not pro-rated.
